Eric Simonton is the Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Business Development for IGY. He is responsible for all development, facility, leasing, acquisition, and disposition related matters for the company, and also serves in an advisory role to IGY’s third party clients in respect to real estate related matters. In addition, Mr Simonton oversees business development for the company, including both acquisitions and third party management services.
Mr. Simonton joined IGY in October, 2006 and in his previous role as Development Manager, he oversaw several successful developments, renovations, and acquisitions in the United States and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining IGY, Mr. Simonton held the position of Project Manager with The Related Group, managing several hundred million dollars of luxury condominium development in South Florida. His primary duties included leading the acquisition, entitlement, design, construction, and sales and marketing of several high end residential projects. Mr. Simonton began his career as an officer in the United States Navy Civil Engineer Corps, managing construction projects on military installations in San Diego, CA, and also serving with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 74, stationed in Gulfport, MS.
Mr. Simonton holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University (cum laude) and a MS degree in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
