IGY MARINAS ANNOUNCES ITS “INSPIRE GIVING THROUGH YOU” COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVE PROJECT LAUNCHING GLOBALLY FOR 2016

Fort Lauderdale, Fl. – October 27, 2015 –

IGY Marinas, the largest international marina network in the world, announced today it is rolling out a new community service initiative project in 2016, “Inspire Giving through You.” Spanning two hemispheres, “Inspire Giving Through You” will focus on community-based initiatives at the very destinations and communities where the company operates its marinas.

“As an important milestone for our company, we will commemorate our 11th anniversary by launching this project,” said Chief Executive Officer Tom Mukamal. “Guests and boaters come to our marinas to enjoy the destinations, local cultures and attractions. We have always included community service into our business practices, and now we have an ambitious plan to embark on our 2016 Community Outreach Project to give back to the local destinations in which we live and work. It is important to show our communities and the world the depth of IGY’s collective spirit and commitment to our valued destinations.  We hope this call to action serves as a model for the marina industry and an inspiration to others.”

IGY Marinas is calling all hands on deck to encourage supportive efforts from IGY corporate staff, marina associates, Anchor Club Sponsors, boat owners, captains and crew to take part in this new endeavor, which will launch with multiple events in various destinations over two dates in 2016.

On February 20, 2016, community outreach events will directly benefit the Caribbean and Latin American communities.

Yacht Club at Isle de Sol (St. Maarten) Simpson Bay Marina (St. Maarten) Yacht Haven Grande (St. Thomas) American Yacht Harbor (St. Thomas) Blue Haven Marina (Turks & Caicos) Red Frog Beach Marina (Bocas del Toro) Marina Cabo San Lucas (Mexico) Marina Santa Marta (Colombia) The second set of events will take place throughout the United States and Bahamas on June 11, 2016 to improve the communities surrounding our corporate offices in Charleston, SC, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and New York, NY as well as our marinas.

North Cove Marina (Manhattan, NY) Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina (Hamptons, NY) Marinas at Resorts World Bimini (Bahamas) Newport Yacht Club & Marina (Newport, NJ)

The program’s objective is three-fold: to identify a need area at each marina destination and partner with a nonprofit organization; coordinate a community-focused event where IGY associates, customers and partners can make a difference; give back to each community.  With opportunities ranging from animal adoption to improvements for youth group and elderly organizations, and even re-furbishing playgrounds, “Inspire Giving Through You” aims to be a catalyst, encouraging ongoing social responsibility.  The message is simple.  Sign Up.  Show Up.  Participate. Make a difference.
