 Yacht Haven Grande is OPEN!

Provisioning
  • National Marine is OPEN right on site and Mary Bowers, Store manager, has been provisioning vessels in the past few weeks as the season begins.
  • Grocers like Fruit Bowl, Gourmet Gallery, Pueblo Stores, Food Center are OPEN and very well stocked. Since the airport and port reopened over a month ago, supply shipments have resumed to near normal levels.
  • Supporting retailers such as Florists, Repair Shops, Upholsterers, Jewelry Stores, Specialty Shops are OPEN and the local Vendor Tents are set up every day that Cruise Ships are in port.
Marina Infrastructure
  • The Marina at Yacht Haven Grande is 100% OPEN and clear of any debris.
  • A recent bathymetric survey reports little to no change since the last survey.
  • Nearly 70% of the slips have good power and water and are in current use.
  • The “D” dock section has work continuing but should also be back to 100% within weeks.
  • The marina staff has been busy catching lines, taking reservations and accepting deposits to hold our slips.
  • We are seeing that our slips are in high demand due to the condition of other area marinas.
Fuel
  • The fuel dock is 100% OPEN and fueling vessels, small and large, on a regular basis again. Work on our in-slip fueling lines remains but that hasn’t stopped us.
  • Our Ultra Low Sulfur diesel is available at our dispenser and by HIGH SPEED dispenser and premium gasoline is also available.
  • Fuel restocking is readily available from our jobber and they’ve guaranteed NO interruption in delivery capability. Tankers are on regular schedule.
  • All tanks, pumps, lines, hoses, dispensers and other equipment have been thoroughly tested and found to be in sound, excellent condition.
Island Infrastructure
  • St Thomas overall has rebounded incredibly well. Leaves, once again, cover trees and flowers are blooming all over.
  • Electricity is restored to more areas every day and estimates place the overall repower at over 50% of the island, and increasing daily.
  • Cellular coverage is largely restored with some people reporting better coverage than before. Cable and internet repairs are underway but taking a bit longer.
  • There are NO curfews or other restrictions to daily life on the island and, driving around the island, one sees less and less evidence of the storms every day.
Commerce Overall
  • Cruise Ship traffic is back on a near daily basis including 5 ship days that bring over 20,000 visitors to the island.
  • Safari taxis are back on the road filled with the cruise ships guests and transporting them to areas all over the island.
  • Excursion boats, day sails, dive tours, snorkel adventures and many more specialty day trip providers are OPEN and operating every day.
  • Restaurants, cafes, beach bars, delis and bistros island wide are OPEN.
