MILLION DOLLAR SPORTFISH CHALLENGE



IGY Marinas is excited to announce its inaugural Million Dollar Sportfish Challenge, an IGFA All-Tackle World Record Catch contest taking place from select marinas in its network!

From May through December 2013, anglers will vie for a million-dollar prize to be paid over a 40-year annuity.

To win, entrants must fish in designated waters in selected times for specific species. To qualify as an entrant, anglers must have a signed berthing agreement with the participating IGY marina for three months or more, with a maximum of 2 anglers per berthing agreement. The winning catch must be ratified by the IGFA (International Game Fish Association).

The following marinas and their respective waters are participating IGY destinations, each equipped with an official IGFA-certified scale at the ready for a possible winner:

ATLANTIC OCEAN & CARIBBEAN SEA:

American Yacht Harbor in St. Thomas, USVI:        Atlantic Blue Marlin; White Marlin; Dolphin fish

Rodney Bay Marina in St. Lucia:                               Atlantic Blue Marlin; White Marlin ; Yellowfin Tuna

La Amada Marina in Cancun, Mexico:                     Atlantic Blue Marlin; White Marlin; Atlantic Sailfish

ATLANTIC OCEAN:

Blue Haven Marina in Turks & Caicos:                   Wahoo; Dolphin fish; Atlantic Blue Marlin

Montauk Yacht Club in New York, NY:                     Yellowfin Tuna; Atlantic Big Eye Tuna; Dolphin fish

 

PACIFIC OCEAN & SEA OF CORTEZ:

Marina Cabo San Lucas in Mexico:                          Dolphin fish; Pacific Blue Marlin; Black Marlin

May 1, 2013 to October 31, 2013:  American Yacht Harbor - St. Thomas, USVI  Montauk Yacht Club - New York, NY Blue Haven Marina -Turks & Caicos La Amada Marina - Cancun Mexico  

July 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013: Marina Cabo San Lucas - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Rodney Bay Marina - St. Lucia

To register for the challenge, contact the marina manager of the respective IGY destination, where each angler will attain and complete their own entry form. Once the entry form has been signed by the angler and marina manager, IGY will generate a confirmation number to be presented by an official Certificate of Entry to the designated angler no more than 5 days after signing up. After the angler receives the Certificate of Entry, he or she can start fishing.
