IGY APPOINTS ADAM FOSTER GENERAL MANAGER OF RODNEY BAY MARINA

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA:  Island Global Yachting (IGY), one of the world’s premier owners, developers and managers of luxury marinas and yachting lifestyle destinations, has appointed Adam Foster, CMM, as the new general manager of its Rodney Bay Marina.

With nearly two decades marina and yachting experience, Foster joins IGY and the Rodney Bay Marina from d’Albora Marinas Group Australia in Sydney.  He most recently served as Business Development manager for the company and prior to that was marina manager for Rushcutter’s Bay, a 102-berth megayacht marina located on Sydney Harbour.  Other previous positions include operations/marina management posts at Cronulla Marina and several other marinas in Australia.

Situated on St. Lucia, the Rodney Bay Marina recently underwent a multimillion dollar renovation that transformed the property into the Southern Caribbean’s premier megayacht destination. The marina now features 248 fully-reconstructed slips and a new megayacht pier offering 32 berths with the highest quality of support facilities for megayachts up to 250 feet in length.  For 17 years, the Marina has been the completion stop for the famous Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), a grueling 2,700 nautical mile voyage undertaken by more than 230 yachtsmen each year.

“We are delighted to have Adam Foster joining us as the new general manager at Rodney Bay Marina,” said Kenny Jones, IGY’s executive vice president of Operations.
“Adam’s extensive background at world-class marinas in Australia along with his superior dedication to customer service will certainly enhance the overall experience at the newly-renovated Rodney Bay Marina.  He is a true marina professional and will definitely assist IGY, as we continue to elevate the marina, its facilities, and the island of St. Lucia to one of the world’s top megayacht marina destinations.”

Rodney Bay Marina was acquired by IGY in early 2007. The company considers the marina as a cornerstone of its portfolio in the Caribbean and is dedicated to showcasing the marina and the island of St. Lucia as one of top megayacht destinations in the world. Already a leading center for yachting, sailing and sport fishing, the Rodney Bay Marina also offers a 4.5 acre boatyard and is situated in a well-protected hurricane hole.  The Rodney Bay Marina was established in 1986 by Arch Marez, a California-based entrepreneur who died in 2005.  Through the years, the Rodney Bay Marina has become the center of yachting tourism on the island of St. Lucia, complementing the luxury hotels and condominiums which support its northern tourism belt. For reservations and more information on the newly renovated Rodney Bay Marina, please click to www.igy-rodneybay.com.

IGY’s network of properties is setting new standards for service and quality in nautical tourism throughout the world. The company offers an unprecedented collection of marinas in the Caribbean including locations such as: St. Maarten, St. Lucia, the British Virgin Islands, and St. Thomas, as well as properties in the Americas.  In addition, IGY is at the forefront of the emerging marina markets in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.  All of IGY’s destinations are known for the highest levels of facilities and service.
