Fort Lauderdale, FL – May 16, 2022 – Island Global Yachting (IGY Marinas) in partnership with the International Yacht Brokers’ Association (IYBA) is excited to announce the dates of the 2022 Caribbean Charter Yacht Show which will take place from 8-11 December at IGY Marinas’ flagship marina, Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas of the US Virgin Islands.
Despite the COVID-19 restrictions imposed throughout the region, the inaugural show was a success with many attendees excited to return for the second edition. With the easing of restrictions, this year IGY Marinas and IYBA plan to expand and enhance the experience of the Caribbean Charter Yacht Show for all participants.
Based on extensive feedback, the decision to host the show from Thursday to Sunday will allow greater flexibility with travel arrangements for exhibiting yachts, sponsors and brokers.
“We set out to provide a different kind of show for charter vessels and brokers, and the turnout of last year’s CCYS indicates that we were successful,” says Tom Mukamal, CEO, IGY Marinas. “We are very excited to improve and build upon last year’s show and look forward to growing the show each year.”
The show organizers will be working diligently with local businesses to arrange opportunities for attendees to experience a variety of cuisines, nightly on-site special events to include local entertainment and shopping, and scheduled off-site area tours, for what is planned to be known as the show’s ‘Destination Day.’ Nightly events will be open to all attendees with the lively dynamic that was introduced at the inaugural show and exciting plans for this year’s crew party on the final evening of the Caribbean Charter Yacht Show are already in the works.
“Brokers were impressed with the layout and organization of the show and truly enjoyed being able to engage with the yachts on display,” expresses Paul Flannery, Chief Operating Officer, IYBA. “We are proud to work alongside IGY Marinas as an integral part of the CCYS and the charter broker community is excited to see what we come up with for 2022.”
Exhibiting yachts will again benefit from promotion via YachtBroker.org, exclusive yacht profiles with Superyacht Stories, social media exposure across multiple platforms and discounted dockage with no minimum stay.
Vessels will also enjoy all the benefits of this Platinum Anchor, 4-time Superyacht Marina of the Year winner, such as high speed in-slip fueling, water services, pump-outs, waste removal, private docks, golf cart assistance, designated parking, crew facilities, resort style swimming pool, and on-site shopping and dining options, amenities not typically available at other Caribbean marinas.
“IGY Marinas and IYBA are delighted with the level of support from the charter yacht community,” said Bert Fowles, IGY’s VP of Marketing. “Yacht captains and brokers have provided very valuable feedback following the inaugural Caribbean Charter Yacht Show and we are committed to exceed expectations again this year.”
