Secluded hideaway in world-famous cruising grounds.

Tranquil anchorage in cleaner, safer waters.

Luxury service in a stunning protected environment.

Here you can enjoy quiet refinement in a spectacular setting while protecting a pristine natural environment rich in marine life.

With just 18 buoys, providing secure anchorage for yachts up to 150 meters, Cala di Volpe Mooring is all about enjoying serene beauty in a unique and privileged location.

Hidden in a tranquil bay just seven nautical miles south of Marina di Porto Cervo – another idyllic but slightly busier IGY destination, Cala di Volpe Mooring gives you the best of all worlds –seclusion, high-end service, and clean waters – all within touching distance of the glamour and sophistication that makes Costa Smeralda so popular with superyacht owners.

Sea Grass

 Unique marine habitat

The mooring is part of a sustainability strategy to regulate the flow of nautical tourism and protect the environment in one of the world’s most sought-after cruising grounds.

With fewer boats, less waste, and more environmental controls, marine life is left to flourish, including the Posidonia Oceanica seagrass endemic to the Mediterranean. Posidonia, otherwise known as Neptune grass, forms large undersea meadows which provide food for fish, urchins, turtles, and other marine life.

Described by the UK’s Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew as a “secret weapon in the battle against climate change”, this extraordinary plant is said to absorb more carbon dioxide than an equivalent area of the Amazon rainforest.

Cleaner, quieter, safer

Dropping anchor at Cala di Volpe Mooring is special, not only because of the wonderfully calm environment, but also the added protection, safety, and exclusivity it gives you.

The buoy field is monitored 24 hours a day, while user registration prevents unknown boats from approaching. Yacht speed is limited to three knots, and moving boats are prohibited from sailing any closer than 30m from moored vessels, providing environmental protection and added safety for crew and guests.

Further benefits include mooring load capacity of five to 50 tonnes to keep boats safe in winds of up to 35 knots, and controls to prevent illegal dumping at sea.

While the focus is firmly on environmental protection, visitors to Cala di Volpe Mooring also benefit from the unrivalled service IGY is renowned for, including shuttle transfers ashore, water and land taxis, waste services, supplies and catering.

The anchorage will also appeal to members of IGY’s exclusive IGY Trident scheme, which guarantees moorings on the Costa Smeralda even in peak season.
