Costa Rica Extends Custom and Immigration Entry Protocols to Six (6) Months in Support of the Country’s Plentiful Sport Fishing Grounds

Costa Rica adopts new entry protocols for Sport Fishers allowing vessels to experience the entire 5-month fishing season.

Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica – November 3, 2021 – Facing the Osa Peninsula Marina Bahia Golfito an IGY marina destination, is the perfect area to base your charters for fishing season. Costa Rica has long been known for some of the best fishing in the world and the water off the Osa Peninsula more record-breaking catches than anywhere in the country and sometimes the world. Marina Bahia Golfito is a state-of-the-art 45-slip marina accommodating vessels from 40’ (12m) to 350’ (107m) and features high speed fueling, shore power, wi-fi, resort amenities, on-site dining and a beach bar with a beautiful rainforest as a backdrop.

Effective September 2021, the Costa Rica Legislative Assembly voted in reforms to foreign vessels wishing to visit and charter in Costa Rica. For Sport Fishing aficionados these changes may prove to be highly favorable, especially when trolling for that next world-record catch. Private owners are now allowed to stay 6 months from the time of arrival, extending it from the previous 90 days. This enables owners the ability spend more time in the some of the world’s greatest sport fishing grounds for an entire season.

“Sport fishing in Costa Rica is unlike anywhere else in the world. It does not matter where you go throughout the country, it is fishing season somewhere,”

states Maikol Barrantes, Dock Master – Marina Bahia Golfito. “Our management and staff are here to provide everyone with the best service and guidance to  help guests have the most successful trips in the some of the greatest fishing grounds in the world.”

Marina Bahia Golfito is offering a chance to enjoy some of the Costa Rican abundant fishing grounds with a Thanksgiving Tournament Species & Fun on November 27th, 2021. This one-day team event offers prizes in the following categories: Most Released Species, Most Released Marlins, Heavier Fish (Eligible Species), Largest Released Snapper.
