Brian Deher was born in Philipsburg, St. Maarten and spent his childhood studying abroad in Puerto Rico, the US, and Europe but returned to the island full time in 1997 after graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration from the George Washington University in Washington DC.

Mr. Deher is the Vice President of Operations for the Caribbean and Latin America for IGY Marinas. Mr. Deher has worked on projects around the world and has over 25 years’ experience in marina management, design, and development. Mr. Deher primarily focuses on the operations and planning of existing IGY facilities in the Caribbean and Latin America but also supports IGY’s Development and M&A Teams in the preparation and review of financial projections, marina layout and designs, operational procedures, and transition planning.

Mr. Deher served six terms as the president of the St. Maarten Marine Trades Association (SMMTA) and was an executive board member for the proceeding 4 years. Mr. Deher also served on the board of the Caribbean Marine Trades Association in his capacity as president of the SMMTA. Mr. Deher has assisted with many non-marine related initiatives on St. Maarten including the Labor Tripartite Committee, The Committee of Experts advising Government on zoning and development plans, and the Advanced Vocational & Adult Education board (Stichting Secundair Beroeps Onderwijs en Educatie). Mr. Deher also served as a member and vice-chair of the board of SZV which manages the Social Health Insurance for Country St. Maarten.

Mr. Deher and his family currently live on St. Maarten where he oversees the day-to-day management of the Yacht Club Isle de Sol and the Simpson Bay Marina.
