Day 1

Start your trip off at St Katharine Docks Cafe for a quick bite to eat before heading over to the Tower of London where you can see the crown jewels, takes tours of the grounds and view the castle armory in action. You can spend the day exploring and learning about the history. Head back to the marina to dine at the Cote Brasserie.

Day 2

Right in the marina area enjoy White Mulberries for some coffee and cakes. Find your way to The Monument to climb the 311 steps to see the city from above and to learn the history of The Great Fire in 1666. Take in a bite at one of the restaurants in the area as you head over to the Sky Garden. The Sky Garden is London’s highest public garden. After taking in the views of the city you can dine at Fenchurch and experience an award-winning menu.

Day 3

Stop and get a quick breakfast before venturing a little further from the marina taking in Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the Churchill War Rooms, and Big Ben. Along this path there are plenty of places to have lunch. You can also see the Horse Guard Parade, view the home of the British Prime Minister at #10 Downing Street and the Parliament Building then head back to the marina for dinner at Ping Pong.

Day 4

Try out Natural Kitchen at the docks then to get a massage or a mani pedi at John Harding Hair and Beauty. After that explore the Tower Bridge’s walkways, engine rooms and glass floor. On the other side of the Tower Bridge is the HMS Belfast, the warship from WWII. After you can walk along the River Thames and take advantage of some great picture opportunities.

Day 5

On the last day, catch one of the double decker buses that tour the city. Some of the bus tours allow you to hop on and off wherever you want to explore. You can jump off the tour and ride the London Big Eye, walk through St. James Park or just ride around viewing the city. After you are done touring you can dine at The Dicken’s Inn.

Tower of London

HMS Belfast

Bank of England

St. Paul’s Cathedral

The Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street is a unique public space that spans three stories and offers 360 degree uninterrupted views across the city of London. London New Year’s Day Parade

Thousands of performers from around the world, including dancers, marching bands and acrobats, parade through the centre of the capital during this huge confetti-filled event.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week takes place twice a year in February, June and September, showcasing over 250 designers to a global audience of influential media and retailers. It is estimated that orders of over £100m are placed during LFW each season. https://londonfashionweek.co.uk/

RBS Six Nations Rugby, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh

The Six Nations Championship is contested once each season by the international sides of France, England, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. Each team plays the other five once per season with home advantage in alternate seasons, giving a total of 15 matches per Championship. Ordinarily, the Championship takes place in February and concludes by the end of March, with rest weekends in weeks three and five.

The Gemini Boat Race 2023 – 26th March

The Boat Race is an annual contest between rowing crews from Oxford and Cambridge Universities that takes place close to Easter each year on the River Thames in south west London between Putney and Mortlake. The first Men’s Boat Race took place in 1829 in Henley on Thames following a challenge between old school friends. Since the second Race in 1836 the contest has taken place in London. The first Women’s Boat Race took place in 1927 and moved to the Championship Course in 2015.

London Marathon – 23rd April

The Virgin Money London Marathon is one of the world’s largest fundraising events and one of the six top marathons that make up the World Marathon Majors.

King Charles III Coronation – 6th May

The Coronation of His Majesty The King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May. The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort. The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.

There will be a bank holiday in the UK on Monday 8th.

Women’s FA Cup Final, Wembley Stadium – 14th May 2023

The Vitality Womens FA Cup Final 2023 (wembleystadium.com) Who will lift the trophy come the end of the season? The FA Cup is the oldest national football competition in the world that was first played in the 1871-1872 season.

Wimbledon Tennis Championships – 6th-16th July

One of the most famous tennis tournaments in the world, the Wimbledon Championships have been played since the 1870s. The championships start at the end of June, and last approximately two weeks, or until all events are complete. St Katharine Docks will be screening the famous tennis tournament on its events pontoon.

London Film Festival

All of them share a common purpose which is to present their new work to an audience, often at an anxious moment as it is usually only the first or second time it’s been seen.

Lord Mayor’s Show

This London event dates back to the early 13th century, when a desperate King John allowed the City of London to appoint its own Mayor. The King insisted that each newly-elected Mayor should come to Westminster and swear loyalty to the Crown, and the Mayor of London has been making that journey for over 800 years.
