During the year there are so many opportunities to attend music and art events or watch beautiful parades.
January
Procesión de los Reyes – The celebration occurs every year on the 5th and 6th of January in the City Centre. A child requests the kings to give gifts to all the children of Málaga followed by a parade and festivities.
February and March
Málaga Carnival – Leading up to Lent, this celebration has parades, parties, music and includes a carnival for children.
March
Málaga Film Festival – Spanish feature films, short films, and documentaries are on display during this annual festival.
June
Noche de San Juan – The 23rd of June is the Summer Solstice and is a holiday marked with magic. A night filled with competitions, performances, and dancing, that ends with the Miss Veladilla pageant.
August
Málaga Feria – This fair celebrates the reconquest of the city and is the biggest festival in Andalusia. Filled with wine and flamenco dancing there are events all throughout the week.
October
Picasso Month – Art exhibits and activities occur all over the city to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Pablo Picasso.
November
International Jazz Festival – Acts travel from all over the world to perform at the Cervantes Theatre.
