About the POSITION:

The Marina Lifestyle Coordinator at IGY Savannah Harbor Marina plays a unique and engaging role that blends guest experience, event coordination, and social media storytelling. This individual is responsible for creating memorable guest and crew interactions, showcasing the marina’s brand online, and supporting daily dock operations when needed.

As an integral part of the marina team, the Marina Lifestyle Coordinator helps bring IGY Savannah’s vibrant waterfront community to life — from planning events and hosting tours to capturing the energy of the marina through creative media. When not engaged in lifestyle and guest experience duties, this role supports the dock team in providing world-class service and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Guest Experience & Lifestyle Engagement

  • Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for guests and crew.
  • Develop, plan, and execute annual and semi-annual marina events such as fishing tournaments, holiday boat parades, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, July 4th festivities, and the Blessing of the Fleet.
  • Coordinate and host on-site social gatherings, yacht crew appreciation events, and community partnerships.
  • Work with local businesses and organizations to create authentic Savannah experiences and collaborative events.
  • Escort guests on marina tours and coordinate special outings or activities around Savannah.

Social Media & Brand Support

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos highlighting marina activity, visiting vessels, events, and the Savannah waterfront lifestyle.
  • Plan and schedule weekly social media posts in collaboration with IGY’s corporate marketing team.
  • Promote marina events and initiatives across social platforms while maintaining IGY brand standards.
  • Engage with followers, guests, and partners online to strengthen brand visibility and community connections.

Digital Media & Revenue Generation

  • Identify, approach, and secure local businesses, marine vendors, shops, and restaurants for digital advertising partnerships on marina media platforms.
  • Manage and update digital ad space content across IGY Savannah Harbor’s marketing channels.
  • Track advertising inquiries, sales, and performance metrics to assist management in meeting revenue goals.
  • Develop creative partnership packages that align with IGY’s brand and guest demographics.

Marina Operations & Administrative Support

  • Assist vessels with docking, undocking, and securing (excluding fuel dock operations).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of docks, marina vehicles, and common areas.
  • Escort guests or deliver items to yachts using golf carts or marina tenders.
  • Perform dock walks, assist with meter reads, and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Provide cross-trained support to the marina office — assisting with administrative tasks, guest check-ins, phone and email inquiries, and general operations coverage during staff absences or high-volume periods.
  • Uphold marina safety, security, and environmental compliance standards.

Qualifications:

  •  Prior experience in marina operations, hospitality, event planning, or marketing preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for service and community engagement.
  • Proficient in social media management (Instagram, Facebook, short-form video).
  • Experience planning and executing small and large-scale events preferred.
  • Photography, videography, or content editing skills are a plus.
  • Able to balance creative work with hands-on operational responsibilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
