Sète is the closest cruise stop to Carcassonne, a perfectly preserved
castle/town.Prevented from going there by the crowds on Bastille Day we spent the day
in Sète. The part easily reached from the port looks
like a lovely village. Sète has a few canals , one of which has
restaurants and shops lining the canal. The food is primarily fresh
fish , salads and wine .The town has several streets lined with shops
(linens) and clothing and a large market with produce , all kinds of
Provencal foods, tablecloths ,etc. Since it was Bastille Day , they had
a jousting tournament performed on the canal. It was fun and
amazing.We thoroughly enjoyed it .
